The Controller's Office is responsible
for monitoring, recording, and reporting the University's financial activity in accordance
with University policy and procedures, external audit requirements, generally accepted
accounting principles, and governmental rules and regulations. The
Controller's Office utilizes the Financial Records System (FRS), an on-line integrated
financial accounting system that records, monitors and maintains all accounting and
financial transactions of the University.
The Controller's Office, under the
leadership of Mark Schmotzer, Associate Vice President and Controller, and the directors
identified below, consists of the Accounting Department, Accounts Payable, Bursar's
Office, Financial Services, Payroll Department, Sponsored Programs, Tax Compliance, and
the Travel Department. Each of these areas is responsible for a specific component
of the financial operations of the University.
